Masterfully Crafted Sugar Crystals, Perfected Over Generations
Rock candy is a traditional sweet enjoyed globally, renowned for sweetening and enhancing teas, coffees, cocktails, and specialty desserts. According to European Union standards, authentic rock candy consists of large crystals at least 5 millimeters in length, formed by slowly crystallizing a concentrated sugar solution to achieve at least 96% sucrose content by mass in its dry state.
Tracing its origins back to ancient India and Persia, rock candy spread across Europe during the Middle Ages via the Arab world, deriving its name from the Arabic word "qandi" (sugar).
Our manufacturing partner in Hungary combines handcrafted expertise with modern production standards. Sugar solutions are heated to 80–95°C and poured into specialized crystallization trays, where the solution cools and slowly crystallizes around sticks or strings over several days or weeks. This process yields large, shiny, high-purity crystals.
While providing the sweetening power of sugar, rock candy offers a deeper and more complex taste experience. It features subtle caramel and honey-like undertones that melt slowly, allowing for a rich and gradual sweetening of beverages
